چکیده
This study evaluates the arsenic adsorption behavior of Fe-exchanged smectite and phosphate-bound kaolinite, in soil, tap water double distilled presence competing anions such as silicate, phosphate, sulfate, at variable pH values. The maximum amounts As adsorbed soil are 620.6 607.6 µg g–1 5 by respectively. pH-modified Freundlich equation fits well (R2 > 0.96) to data, distinguishing effect on adsorption. coefficients pH-value 0.04 0.05 for kaolinite smectite, suggesting that low is suitable decreased compared due iron (Fe2+/3+), bicarbonate water. Among water, phosphate most interfering anion competition As-phosphate binary derived from Sheindorf 3.93 0.56 5. can be used more effectively than remediation systems having (pH ≈5) high concentration.

Competitive Adsorption of Arsenate and Arsenite on Oxides and Clay Minerals
Masscheleyn et al., 1991). The mobility of As is a function of its oxidation state with arsenite exhibiting greater Arsenic adsorption on amorphous Al and Fe oxides and the clay mobility through sand columns than arsenate (Gulens et minerals, kaolinite, montmorillonite, and illite was investigated as a function of solution pH and As redox state, i.e., arsenite [As(III)] al., 1979). However, und...

Radioactive caesium pollution resulting from Fukushima Dai-ichi and Chernobyl nuclear plant accidents involves strong interactions between Cs+ and clays, especially vermiculite-type minerals. In acidic soil environments, such as in Fukushima area, vermiculite is subjected to weathering processes, resulting in aluminization. The crystal structure of aluminized clays and its implications for Cs+ ...
متن کاملAdsorption of arsenic on soil under different soil moisture conditions
The adsorption study was conducted on three Japanese soils with different soil properties to characterize the adsorption pattern of Arsenic (As). Double tube method was used to find out the effect of soil moisture levels on As adsorption. For this study, besides double tube method, conventional batch method also was used. The As adsorption showed two phase kinetics. An initial and rapid adsorpt...

Molybdenum adsorption behavior was investigated on various crystalline and x-ray amorphous Al and Fe oxide minerals, clay minerals, CaC@, and arid-zone calcareous and noncalcareous s soils. Molybdenum adsorption on botb Al and Fe oxides exhibited a maximum at low pH extending to about pH 4 to 5. Above pH 5 adsorption decreased rapidly, with little adsorption occurring above pH 8. Molybdenum ads...
